A short documentary of Len Zaleski aka "Cowboy Len" as a filmmaker from Canton, OH,
where he made short, amateur western films with his brothers in the late 1940s - early 1950s.

Hooked on trick and fancy rope spinning and bull whip artistry at the early age of 14, Len has over 40 years of western shows and exhibitions to add to his credit. A a true veteran performer in the area of Wild West Arts, Len continually dazzled folks of all ages!

A one time Ranch Bronc Buster as well as Western Film Maker, COWBOY Len was most knowledgeable about REAL cowboys and tools of their trade, making a point of sharing some of the history of trick roping and the Wild West Arts at every show.

As a former member of the International Trick & Fancy Ropers Association, now known as the WILD WEST ARTS CLUB based in Las Vegas, COWBOY LEN had received several Awards of Excellence in trick roping and is held in the highest regards by his peers who share in his love and appreciation for the frontier arts and western entertainment.

Additionally, Len Zaleski was always a long time admirer of WILL ROGERS, a big part of his western cowboy inspiration!

Born and raised in Canton, OHIO, Len was a father to 4 daughters, a son and 7 grandchildren. His loving wife, Dolores, passed away in 1995 but she always stayed close to his heart.

You would often see Len showing his grandchildren the roping tricks of the trade and because of that we may soon find even MORE up and coming trick ropers to carry on his LEGACY!

And while Cowboy Len has now moved on to greener pastures in heaven....the LEGACY of his cowboy trick roping shows and SPIN-O-ROPE lives on and continues to this very day through his son, COWBOY BRIAN.

As any good cowboy would say....Happy Trails to you COWBOY LEN....until we meet again!
